First of all, the number 1 mistake most people make is trying to sell to everybody.
Not everyone is your customer and the sooner you realize that, the more sales you will make.
You have to define what is called a customer avatar.
An avatar is basically a profile of your ideal customer.
So assuming you are in the weight loss niche or health and wellness niche. You can use a tool like Facebook Audience Insights to profile your customers.
Your avatar might look like
Women between ages 25-44 who like reading about weight loss, fitness, health and wellness, and live in Lagos, Nigeria.
Now, when you define your avatar, its almost like shooting fish in a barrel.
The next stage for you is to now go after your target market and offer them tips and education instead of just hard selling them straight away.
In this day and age, most people have a “shield” around them to prevent them from desperate marketers trying to sell them stuff.
But no one ever has a shield against information. Ever.
So if you are in the health and wellness niche, position yourself as a health and wellness trainer or researcher, and put up content that addresses your customer avatar.
Once you give valuable content, you can sprinkle links to your solution (your product, your supplement, etc) in a passive way, so that your audience will click on them naturally and buy without being pressured to buy.
